Challenge and Conflict: keys to life

Challenge and conflict are sometimes the things most avoided in life. When you think about the word conflict it can come off taboo. The term makes you think of opposing forces coming together and crashing. Conflict is an uncomfortable place, but it is very necessary in life. Challenge can be just that, challenging. However once again this is a necessary key to life. Without conflict or challenge, change is non-existent. When two masses of land come together and collide it creates a mountain. Some monuments in your life will never be formed until you face certain challenges and embrace conflict. Now, there is a major difference between being a confrontational person and embracing conflict. If you are just confrontational by nature and can never agree on anything, just think of yourself as being an automobile. Have you ever been on the road with a reckless driver? You don't know where they're coming from or where they're going, and you can't dictate the intent of their

Be Left Standing!

There's a storm out on life's ocean and its moving this way. If your souls not anchored in Jesus, you will surely drift away. There are a lot of changes happening swiftly in our government. So many things are occurring right under our noses economically, socially, spiritually, educationally. If you are not careful, you will be sucked right into believing a myth. Jesus is the answer, there is no other way. Be careful about what you let into your gates, because whatever is going down will take anything willing with it. Mark my words that our county is going down. Be rooted and anchored in something that stands strong. The only thing that stands any test in time is Jesus Christ and the Word of God. Stand sure on His word and you will be left standing!

What is your reflection?

I have been meditating on Genesis chapter one lately and while doing so, I started asking myself what is my reflection? "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth, and the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the waters". I always questioned why didn't God hover over the face of the earth because that's where most of his creating took place. Then it dawned on me, you can never see your own reflection in dirt, you can only see it in water. Water is the purest element. It replenishes and washes away anything impure. God hovered over the face of the water to see His own reflection. Once He saw His own reflection and saw that it was the purest element, He created from the dust of the earth what He was. Hence, "man was created from the dust of the earth, in His image and in His likeness." We are a reflection of Him because He created us from his own reflection of purity. He cou

Dream!

I had this dream about 7 years ago now. In this dream I was at a carnival and the whole world was apart of this carnival, It was at night and I remember the whole world being in line to wait for the carnival to open. I was standing in the middle of the line with my husband (my friend at the time) and two of the leaders of my church at the time. I had this eerie feeling but I didn't want to damper everyone's excitement about the carnival. It had rides that looked like sky scrapers. We were all so excited but I couldn't shake this weird feeling. I was standing in line talking and laughing and the holy spirit put his hand over my mouth and told me to be quiet and watch. I stopped talking and started listening and watching everything around me. As I was watching everything started being magnified and it was so much going on. I looked up in the sky and saw this little demon on the moon with measuring tape. He was walking around the moon and laughing. I hollered as loud as I co

Faith Walk!

There has been so much teaching around me about faith. I think it is such an important topic right now. Really its not even a topic, its apart of this walk. I heard a preacher say, if you don't have faith, you don't have salvation. How can you be saved without faith. My bishop has been teaching lately on faith. Laron and I went to Florida one weekend to sing and do some studio work. While we were working we started talking. (which I love) We started talking about faith and he had this crazy revelation from the Lord that changed my whole perspective on the word and topic faith. Hebrews 11: breaks faith down soooo clear. "Without faith it is impossible to please God". "Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen". Now us as christians always think faith has to do with everything outside of us. I need a new car, let me have faith and its mine. I want a new house, let me have faith and I can have it. But faith is the substanc

What are you hearing?

When me and the Lord have conversations, He talks to me in lamen terms. He speaks very plain so I have no excuse to say I didn't understand. Here is something he boldy told me and I would like to share it with you: Don't ask to hear my voice if your intention is not to be attentive. Don't ask me to speak if your not even paying attention. You will always listen to what you are paying the most attention to. All things speak, which one is loudest to you? That is what is most important to you. I am a gentleman so if there is alot of noise and multiple voices, its not ME. I am not the author of confusion. He told me this on a day when I was getting overwhelmed about some things that were going on in my life. I started jumping ship mentally in some areas in my life, because I felt like it was TOO MUCH going on. Then God nicely reminded me. I am very simple and MY path is narrow where not much can fit. So if your getting tripped up by a whole bunch of things that did not even

You Reap WHERE you Sow!

Of course we all know you reap what you sow. However, not only do you reap WHAT you sow but you reap WHERE you sow. The bible gives the greatest depiction of the sower in Matthew 13 . It gave his entire life and him wasting and making profit of the seed God gave in about 2 paragraphs. What you are sowing is always important. however where you sow is just as important because you can sow one million dollars, diamonds, your valuable time, your worth into the most invaluable places and reap NOTHING. Lets say you were a farmer and had fresh pumpkin seeds, tomato seeds and watermelon seeds to plant. You took good care of the seeds because you knew you would get a harvest when you planted. You chose the prettiest day to go out and checked the forecast to make sure rain wasn't far. However you went out and planted your seeds in red clay and next to the murky water by the pond. Do you think you would receive a good harvest? NO This is what many of us do. We take the seeds God gives

Man in the Mirror!

Something profound happens when you are forced to face yourself. Something unexplainable happens when you have to be exposed for what you've made yourself to be, because the real you shows up. Something incomparableble happens when the right situation comes and who you have pretended to be takes the back seat. That something is called "FREEDOM". It is sometimes the most uncomfortable feeling to face yourself, your actions, your secrets.  We will spend a whole life working two full-time jobs to cover it up. However in exposure comes the most breath-taking feeling of freedom. It feels like you are being suffocated by a plastic bag and someone comes and cuts a slit in it. God operates only in spirit and truth. He uses us to do His handy work on this earth. He can not use you for your good if you are not true to yourself and those around you. The funny thing is we know what we're hiding. We can even remember when we started hiding it. We put these blinders on that convinc

Seeds are planted to GROW!

When a planter plants seeds, he plants them on open soil. The soil may not be fully aware that seeds are being laid, but if its open the farmer has the right to plant to bring a harvest. Some of our hearts are like that open soil. If its open and a farmer comes to plant you may not know why he's planting, what he's planting and even when he planted. However if he did and you were open, that seed HAS been planted. Now you are the carrier of the seed, it has begun the process of growth and reaping. If the right elements come and nurture that seed, it WILL began to grow. All that seed needs to do is get connected with the right life source and its ALL OVER. Hence a baby. There is eggs that will have been in a women's body way before the seed, but once it gets connected to that seed breeding begins. Be careful what you open your heart to, because if its a bad seed you may not have seen it go in but if it gets connected to the right situation, conversation, attitude, disposit
